报告摘要：In this talk, Mark will review the latest development of land use system research in rural and urban areas and the effects of policy in climate change and carbon emission control.

Professor of Rural Economy and Sustainability within the School of Geosciences, University of Edinburgh. Director of the School’s Centre for the study of Environmental Change and Sustainability. Co-ordinator of various European Commission projects. Lead author to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 2nd, 3rd and 4th Assessment Reports (Working Group II). Author of more than 90 international publications in journals and books.
